Steps in manufacturing of detergent powder and its advantages


The manufacturing of detergent powders and soap consists of broad range of process and packaging steps . The size and complexity of these process and steps can vary from small unit to large manufacturing unit . The first step is selection of raw material . The raw material are selected on the basis of their cost , compatibility with other raw materials , form and effectiveness at user end . The actual steps in manufacturing may vary from one unit to other .

Manufacturing steps -

Powder detergents are made by spray drying , drying mixing , agglomeration or combination of these methods . In the first method , the dry and liquid detergent is combined into thick suspension . This mixture is then heated and pumped through nozzle under high pressure to produce droplets . These droplets are made to fall through hot air , so that they make hollow granules on dry up . The dry droplets are then collected to screened them for uniform sizes . After cooling these droplets , the bleach, enzymes , are added . The use of new technology enables the manufacturers to reduce the air inside the droplets to achieve high density .
